Member Policy
1. Membership Structure
All memberships at BMA are paid by monthly Direct Debit.
Membership fees are calculated over 48 weeks of training per calendar year and divided evenly across 12 monthly payments.
This structure allows members to spread the cost of training consistently throughout the year.
2. Club Closures
The club may close for up to four (4) weeks per year, which may include (but is not limited to):
Christmas and New Year periods
Bank holidays
Instructor holidays
Events, maintenance, or unforeseen circumstances
These closures are already factored into the 48-week membership structure.
Direct Debit payments remain payable during all closure periods.
3. Direct Debit Commitment
By joining the club, members agree to:
Maintain uninterrupted Direct Debit payments
Not cancel or pause payments during closures or short-term absences
Stopping or cancelling a Direct Debit without prior approval is treated as a membership cancellation.
4. Waiting List & Membership Places
Due to limited class capacity, the club operates a waiting list.
If a member:
Cancels their Direct Debit
Stops payment without authorisation
Cancels their membership for any reason
They will:
Lose their allocated membership place
Be required to rejoin at the end of the waiting list
Only be offered a place if and when availability allows
Re-entry is not guaranteed.
5. Membership Freezes
Membership freezes are granted only at the discretion of the club and are not automatic.
A freeze may be considered solely for long-term injury or medical conditions that:
Prevent all training
Are expected to last longer than four (4) consecutive weeks
Examples:
A six-week injury may qualify for a freeze (subject to approval)
Illness, minor injuries, holidays, or absences of four weeks or less do not qualify
Medical evidence may be requested.
6. Short-Term Absences
Members acknowledge that:
Short-term illness, minor injuries, or missed sessions are a normal part of training
Membership fees remain payable during these periods
No refunds, credits, or freezes are offered for short-term absences
7. Attendance & No Make-Up Sessions Policy
Memberships entitle members to attend a set number of sessions per week, as specified in their membership plan.
Missed sessions:
Cannot be carried over
Cannot be made up in future weeks
Cannot be doubled up to replace missed classes
For example:
A one-hour-per-week membership allows attendance at one session per week only
If a session is missed, the member (or child) may not attend two sessions the following week
This policy ensures:
Fair access to classes
Consistent class sizes
Equal treatment of all members
8. Membership Cancellation
Members wishing to cancel can do so at any time by requesting a cancellation. If a full month has been paid for and member no longer wishes to come then any sessions left will be lost and no refunds will be issued.
9. Agreement to Policy
By joining BMA, all members confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Membership, Payment, Freeze & Attendance Policy.
